Today, we’re talking about “Love Language” by TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT), a digital single released on May 2, 2025. 💚
TXT debuted under BIGHIT MUSIC in 2019 with five members: Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun and Hueningkai.
Since their debut with The Dream Chapter: STAR, TXT have built a musical world around youth, friendship, dreams, confusion and growing up.
But “Love Language” takes us somewhere especially bright and romantic.
Instead of trying to understand the whole world, this time they’re trying to understand just one person.
So, what exactly does “Love Language” mean?
Let’s find out together! 💌
💌 What Does “Love Language” Mean?
A love language is basically the way someone expresses and receives love.
But TXT take that familiar phrase and turn it into something really cute.
In the song, falling in love feels like learning an entirely new language.
You start paying attention to everything.
A look.
A touch.
A word.
Even something that normally seems completely ordinary can suddenly feel like it has a hidden meaning.
The feeling is:
“I like you so much that I want to learn everything about the way your heart speaks.”
And honestly, that’s a pretty perfect concept for a youthful love song. 💚
📖 Learning Someone Like a New Language
One of my favorite ideas in the song is the comparison between love and studying.
When you first learn a language, you don’t understand everything immediately.
You learn one word.
Then another.
You make mistakes.
You get confused.
And little by little, everything starts making sense.
That’s exactly how the narrator approaches love.
He doesn’t assume he already understands the other person.
Instead, he wants them to teach him.
That’s why the repeated:
“T, T, Teach me”
works so well.
Love becomes something you learn together.
🔤 From 가나다라 to “You-ology”
The lyrics have some really playful language-learning references.
One of my favorites is the idea of learning:
가나다라
These are the beginning characters used when listing the Korean alphabet, similar to saying “A, B, C, D” in English.
So the narrator is basically saying he’s learning about this person from the very beginning — like a child learning their first letters.
And then there’s:
“You-ology.”
It’s a playful made-up word combining “you” and “-ology,” meaning the study of something.
So instead of biology or psychology, he wants to study:
YOU. 😂💚
From A to Z.
Every expression.
Every feeling.
Every little sign.
It’s cheesy in exactly the right way.
🌸 A Fresh Side of TXT
TXT have shown us plenty of intense, dramatic and emotional concepts over the years.
But “Love Language” brings out a much brighter side of the group.
The song feels fresh, youthful and full of that slightly awkward excitement you get when you really like someone.
You don’t know exactly what they’re thinking.
You’re analyzing every tiny interaction.
And suddenly your entire day seems to revolve around them.
It feels like spring.
Light, warm and just a little bit nervous. 🌸
🎬 Like a Youth Movie
The music video was filmed in Spain, and the European scenery gives the whole video a dreamy, cinematic atmosphere.
Rather than feeling like an elaborate fantasy world, it feels more like watching a group of young people enjoying one unforgettable chapter of their lives.
The sunlight, streets and scenery make the members look like they’ve stepped straight into a coming-of-age movie.
That visual style fits the song perfectly.
“Love Language” isn’t supposed to feel complicated.
It’s about that simple excitement of wanting to know someone better.

💡 Korean Tip with Student1
“Love Language” has some really fun Korean expressions that fit the idea of learning someone like a new language.
Let’s learn a few!
🔤 가나다라 (Ganadara)
가나다라 is basically the Korean equivalent of saying:
“A, B, C, D.”
가, 나, 다, 라 are some of the first characters you encounter when learning Hangul.
So:
가나다라 배워 가는 나
creates the image of someone learning love from the absolute beginning.
It’s a really cute way to connect Korean language learning with falling in love.
⏰ 종일 (Jongil)
종일 means:
“all day”
or
“the whole day.”
So:
생각해 종일 너만
has the feeling of:
“I think about only you all day.”
Pretty straightforward.
And very much what happens when you have a crush. 😂
✨ 스치다 (Seuchida)
스치다 means to brush past, graze or pass by lightly.
For example:
손이 스치다
means:
“hands brush against each other.”
So:
살짝 스친 손
describes that tiny moment when someone’s hand lightly brushes against yours.
And when you like someone, even something that small suddenly feels important. 💚
📖 해독하다 (Haedokhada)
해독하다 means “to decode” or “to decipher.”
You might use it when trying to understand something difficult or hidden.
In the song, the narrator wants to understand someone’s meaning:
사전처럼 해독하고 싶어
Like using a dictionary to decode them.
That fits the “Love Language” concept perfectly.
🌴 낙원 (Nagwon)
낙원 means:
“paradise.”
So:
너의 이름이 낙원의 또 다른 말 같아
has the romantic feeling of:
“Your name feels like another word for paradise.”
Definitely one of the sweeter lines in the song.
🧭 길을 잃다 (Gireul Ilda)
길 (gil) = road / way
잃다 (ilda) = to lose
Together:
길을 잃다
means:
“to get lost.”
So:
길 잃은 나
means:
“me, lost without a way.”
The song then contrasts that darkness with someone becoming the light that guides you.
💭 Student1’s Take
For me, the cutest thing about “Love Language” is how seriously it treats all those tiny moments that happen when you start liking someone.
A hand brushes against yours.
They send you a message.
They look at you differently.
And suddenly you’re analyzing everything like it’s homework. 😂
That’s why the language metaphor works so well.
Falling in love really can feel like learning something completely new.
You don’t know all the rules.
You misunderstand things.
You keep studying.
And somehow, you still want to learn more.
TXT turn that feeling into something bright, playful and really easy to relate to.
Maybe there isn’t one universal language of love.
Sometimes you just have to ask:
“What’s your love language?” 💚
