Today, we’re talking about “BiiiG” by BIGBANG, a special digital single released on August 19, 2026, to celebrate BIGBANG’s 20th anniversary. 🎉
BIGBANG debuted on August 19, 2006, which makes the release date especially meaningful — exactly 20 years later.
And with such a huge milestone, I can’t help wondering if “BiiiG” could be the beginning of something even bigger, maybe even a lead single for a 20th-anniversary project. 👀
For now, though, that part is just my guess!
🎵 What Does “BiiiG” Mean?
The title itself immediately stands out.
Why “BiiiG” instead of simply “BIG”?
Of course, “BIG” means something large or huge, and it also connects directly to the first three letters of BIGBANG.
But the really interesting part is the three i’s:
B + iii + G = BiiiG
One way to interpret those three i’s is as the three individual members — three different “I”s coming together as BIGBANG.
G-Dragon. Taeyang. Daesung.
Three individual artists with their own identities and musical styles, coming together to create something even BiiiGer.
The song also feels like a celebration of BIGBANG’s identity and their 20-year journey, while sending the message that they’re ready to go bigger and further into their next chapter.
⏳ 20 Years of BIGBANG
“BiiiG” arrives about four years after BIGBANG’s 2022 release “Still Life.”
And the dates tell the story perfectly:
August 19, 2006 → August 19, 2026
That’s exactly 20 years of BIGBANG. 👑
For longtime VIPs who have followed BIGBANG through so many different eras, this release feels like more than just another comeback.
It feels like a celebration of everything that brought BIGBANG and VIPs here.

Another interesting part of “BiiiG” is the team behind the song.
TEDDY, who has played a major role in BIGBANG’s music throughout their career, worked on the track alongside G-Dragon and producers including 24, KUSH and IDO.
Tarzzan of ALLDAY PROJECT also participated in the songwriting.
That combination makes the track feel like a meeting point between BIGBANG’s history and a newer generation of K-pop.

“BiiiG” definitely lives up to its name.
The track is driven by a huge, powerful hip-hop beat, layered with stylish sounds and an addictive hook.

Here are a few expressions from the song that are fun to know!
뱅봉 (Baengbong)
뱅봉 is the nickname commonly used for BIGBANG’s iconic light stick.
For VIPs, it represents much more than just a concert light stick — it’s a symbol connecting BIGBANG and their fans. 💛
구관이 명관 (Gugwani Myeonggwan)
This Korean expression basically means that sometimes the person or thing you already know and trust turns out to be the best.
In the context of BIGBANG celebrating 20 years, it’s a pretty fitting line. 👑
스무 (Seumu)
스무 means twenty when counting age or certain things in Korean.
So the use of “스무” naturally connects with BIGBANG’s 20th anniversary.

For me, the coolest thing about “BiiiG” is that it doesn’t feel like BIGBANG is simply looking back.
Yes, there’s nostalgia.
Yes, they’re celebrating 20 years.
But there’s also this feeling that they’re saying:
“We’re not finished yet.”
Three members.
Three individual “I”s.
Twenty years of history.
And maybe an even BiiiGer chapter ahead. 🔥
